Dear all,

I have a report with a line chart with the following issue: the data labels disappear in the margin - how can this be solved?

Kind regards,

Lieselot

Hi Lieselot - maybe you could share a screen shot of your additional properties of the Line Chart so others can better assist?  Thank you

Tammy,

I have no special properties for the line chart.

I believe it is common behaviour of the chart - but I would like to change this

Kind regards,

Hi Lieselot,

You would be having chart tooltip property as "Show with in chart area". The tooltip is getting cut along the top margin of graph when the value is huge.

You can try un checking the above mentioned property or adjusting the chart top margin

I am having issues with the data labels - changing a property of the tooltip will not help me (and I have tested it, it does not change anything).

Changing the top margin of the chart does not help either.

Kind regards,

Hi Lieselot,

Can you try to set background color to transparent? Maybe the legend area above with a solid fill blocks the datalabel to overlap. I am not sure though, just a thought.

Hi,

I see that even I've this issue with tooltip after 1,4 upgrade. Will check if data label also having this issue and get back to you.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The square you've drawn over data label gave an impression of tooltip .

Hi,

There are 2 options that you have:

1. Change the Axis scaling for Y-axis to auto (unselect the option for Axis Scaling) or alternatively increase highest value to a larger value. This will automatically adjust your chart's highest value and present labels properly.

2. Under Data Label, change the position to 'inside'. You have currently set it as 'outside'.

This should fix your problem.

I currently have no axis scaling for the Y-axis so this cannot be the issue.

Adding an axis scaling for the Y-axis with a max. value is also not possible (because this is not want end-user wants and we have no idea about the max. value).

We use a line chart and in the properties of data label we have no option to change the position (otherwise I would have done this already).

Kind regards,

Lieselot
