Hi,
We are having issues trying to promote content between our dev and live servers. Other content can be moved between the environments with no problems but this particular universe is having problems.
I logged into LCM as me using Windows AD login, and then went into Version management on the dev server. I found the universe and Added it to Version Management.
I then went to Promotion jobs and edited the job which promotes universe from dev to live, removing the previous resources (the universes that failed yesterday) and adding the new universe I had created today. I then did a test promote, and all looked fine, ie no error messages. I then did the Promote and checked the history. It was showing as a Partial Success. The folder was in black text, and seemed to be OK. The universe was in red text with the following meesage:
Resolution Status=Copied, Dependency Status=Some required dependencies are not selected, Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed, Promotion Status=Failure : Security right violation encountered
So I went into Manage Dependencies and found the connection it needed, added this and closed. I then promoted again. It was still only a partial success, and the universe gave the following error:
Resolution Status=Copied, Dependency Status=All required dependencies are included, Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed, Promotion Status=Failure : Security right violation encountered
I then logged out of LCM and logged back in as Administrator and tried to promote the same universe and connection again. It was still only a partial success, and the universe gave exactly the same error as above.
Please can someone help with which security rights need amending? I and the Administrator account have full control of the universe, are there separate rights that we need to set on the LCM application (although the Admin account already has full control).
thanks in anticipation,
Keith
Request clarification before answering.
The first thing I would do Keith is create a new LCM job and try to promote the universe and connection again. If that fails to work then check the security on tour destination environment to ensure that the user you connect with, can add/modify unverses/connections there.
