Is there a cheap/free version of SAP that I can install on my PC so that I can kinesthetically learn to use the software.  I have noticed that more and more companies use SAP and I want to develop my limited skill set to understand and use SAP in all aspects.

Hello @DawnNUK

There isn’t a completely free, full-version SAP system you can just install locally, but there are a few low-cost or no-cost options you can use to get hands-on practice:

SAP Learning System Access. SAP Learning Hub – Student/Discovery Edition

Official SAP training environment with access to preconfigured SAP systems for exercises.

Cost: Free

Discovery Edition – free, limited learning content (no live system).

Professional/Student Edition paid €20–30/month and includes Learning System Access hours.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Trial Public Edition

14-day trial of S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition with guided scenarios.

Cost: Free.

No full customising; system resets after trial.

SAP Developer Edition

Downloadable ABAP-based SAP NetWeaver or older S/4HANA Developer Editions for personal learning.

Cost: Free.

Technical focus (ABAP, configuration); not all business modules. Requires Linux VM setup.

OpenSAP Courses

Free, interactive SAP learning platform with exercises, some using real SAP trial systems.

Cost: Free.

If you want practical/business process experience, start with the SAP S/4HANA Cloud trial and SAP Learning Hub Student Edition. For technical/ABAP skills, use the Developer Edition.

With kind regards
