Java Hub Installation

Hi All,

I have the following queries on JAVA HUB.

1.) What is JAVA HUB.

2.) I need to install EP on JAVA HUB system

3.) where will i find the installation CD's

Hi,

There are 2 types of Netweaver systems:

1) Sidecar system- This system you will use for one application only. E.g. if you need portal system for ESS/MSS application and this portal will be connected to ERP system and this system will only be used for ESS/MSS application system then it is Sidecar system.

2) Hub system- HUB systems are Enterprise level system. E.g. If you have Enterprise Portal which is used enterprise wide for different applications like single portal for ECC, SRM, BI etc.

There is no difference between installation of these 2 systems except you need to installed additional Business Packages for different applications on the system if you are using as Hub system.

One more query , how will i install EP Hub, where will i find the D VD's ( i mean in which section)

, Media guide and Master guide.

The media and guides are available for BS (  ERP HUb, CRM HUB ..etc)

My requirement is to install Retail store , SUI (F&R) as the UT on EP hub . It that posible.

Hi,

You should use DVD for NW 7.3 system only. While installing the system select proper usage types as per your requirement. And once installation is complete then you can install Business packages of application you want to use.

Please use installation guide for Netweaver 7.3 As Java system.

The DVDs in the NW 7.3 do not show that it is a JAVA HUB installation.

The description of the NW 7.3(SAP Installation Master for IBM DB2 for Linux, Unix) installation CD is as:

Installs an SAP NetWeaver 7.3 Java system with all instances on the same host.

Where as the  BS 2010 on 7.3 is SAP Insta. Master Business 7i2010 Suite Java Hub for IBM DB2.

Very confused if the NW 7.3 installation master will install the JAVA HUB system or not.

Hi,

Check SAP note 1615463. It says as below:

Information about the installation:

To install the contents of Business Suite core applications, use the DVD "SAP Business Suite 7 Innovation 2010 - JAVA HUB BS Java Content". To deploy applications that belong to add-on product versions, proceed as follows: After you install SAP NetWeaver 7.3, use the DVD "BS7I2010 Enablement Components".

So, you need to install SAP Netweaver 7.3 system and later you can do enablement of Business suite components.
