Java GUI 7.50 for Mac - Any planned updates

The 7.60 GUI for Windows is nearing the end of its life and 7.70 will be released shortly. The Java GUI remains at 7.50 and there are some differences in the look and feel of transactions. I help out with classes at a University Alliance school and we have many questions from students using Mac when going through SAP assignments. Does anybody know if there is a roadmap for the Java GUI and if it ever may be updated to be more aligned with the Windows GUI? For now we encourage Mac users to use the web client which is a good solution most of the time.

We are working on macOS Big Sur, but there are still some challenges, see SAP note 2994695. Unfortunately most of them are related to the Java runtime or OS and can't be addressed in our code.

Rolf-Martin, have you been able to open the JAR files for SAP GUI on Big Sur? I have followed the note 2994695 but SapMachine 11.0.9.1 doesn't fix the issue of opening.

In case of problem opening downloaded jar file please rename extension to lowercase jar PlatinGUI750_12-80002494.jar.

For MAC OS Big sur, rename extension to lowercase jar PlatinGUI750_12-80002494.jar. It's works.

When using the new 7.70 version, there is a native installer and no more hassle with uppercase file extension not recognised by the os.

I am planning to buy MACBOOK M1 and looking for input on how this works and is there any place i can download SAP GUI for MAC to check myself as well.
