IIS Restart process

We are getting downtime at least once a week on our BOXIR2 deployment. We have narrowed this down to being resolved when we restart IIS.

However, we can access other websites in IIS fine.

Does anyone know what gets restarted when IIS is restarted? Anything connected to BO?

The server is part of a cluster and we can access the underlying services from another server connected to the cluster but for some reason we can't access the CMC or infoview from the master server unless we restart IIS.

Most likely the DefaulApp pool is crashing under the load.

There should be some Knowledge Articles (SAP Notes) on the IIS tuning. You can also use TechNet - Microsoft to find information on how to tune IIS for high performance and data throutput.

Check the event viewer on that server as well, looking for IIS, w3,wp, or ASP.net errors.
