Dear BW gurus,
I am new to BW and currently doing a project. When I try to load payroll data from R/3, I got a message in the monitor screen saying "No data available". I go to R/3 and test extraction for the payroll datasource(0HR_PY_1), the data can be extracted. Can anyone give me some hints why I can't get data in BW. I use standard Business Content without any modification.

Probably your RFC-user running the extraction job has insiffucuent rights to read HR payroll data, When testing the extractor with RSA3, you use your own logon, that probably has enough HR authority.

There could be a lot of reasons.
1. Check if the datasource/infosource mappings are correct and activated.
2. Check if the sourcesystem with which the datasource is mapped is the correct one (correct R/3 box).
3. There are no restrictions in the infopackage.
4. The link between the BW and R/3 is active.
5. Try loading only till the PSA. Does it come?

Dear Somnath,
Thanks for your reply.
1. The mapping are correct and infosource is activated
2. I've extracted other HR data (eg. employee) from R/3, so the box is correct.
3. No restriction in infopackage.
4. it's active
5. That's what I did. Only load into PSA but no data available.
I am wondering is it any special ocnfiguration required for payroll since it supports delta (employee master is full upload).
Hi,
There is a particular role that needs to be added to the background id that extracts HR data. It contains specific authorizations for extracting HR transaction data.
We implemented this in our previous project. But I am not able to get the role name or the place where I read this.
Maybe this could be of help to you.
Hi!
have you able to extact any records using the extractionc check RSA3 in the r/3 system.
with regards
ashwin
