Grouping Problem

Well, my brain clearly is not functioning today and it is very frustrating...

I am working with a very simple dataset: USER_ID (varchar) and RECORD_DATE (datetime).

Created a parameter to select a range of dates to report:

Record selection formula is "{Command.RECORD_DATE} in {?DateRange}" and report grouping is:

Report layout looks like this:

So, what the heck is going on here? With date selection 8/15/2022 through 8/20/2022

Why does my output look like this?

Where is that 8/14/2022 coming from in the Group 1 Header? And, looking at the detail data, why am I seeing 8/15/2022, 8/16/2022, 8/17/2022, 8/18/2022, and 8/19/2022 records under each Group 2 Header?

Why is only the single (invalid) "8/14/2022" Group 1 Header showing? There are no others.

It defaults to "For each week"
