Hello experts. I'm trying to build a new process but I cannot add any tasks to it. I've tried the correct way, i.e. selecting Action Task from the Palette then selecting the process flow line and left clicking but when I do that, nothing happens. I tried creating an Action Task just randomly in the Process Flow open field and then connecting the flow line to my task but that doesn't work.
According to SAP documentation, you select your task type (don't drag and drop) next select the point in the process line where you want the task to occur. Even creating the Action Task in the open field and not part of the process line, it won't allow me to save the process. Do I need to submit a ticket with SAP on this one?
(The text of the error log is attached also.)

Hey Brandon,
long time since we saw some posts from you:) Glad you are back.
The issue you describe seems to me more like fundamental error in Eclipse, rather than something specific in IdM.
From the error log i see you use Eclise 2020-12, which is definetely not the recommended version for SAP IdM. You should always run on Eclipse Oxygen - no matter how old this version is.
So my suggestion would be. Delete everything related to the existing Eclipse, including the workspace. Install Eclipse Oxygen clean, then the IdM plug-in and try again.

Todor

I was afraid of that. I saw a KB article that mentioned Oxygen v4.7 was the only supported version of Eclipse and I was hoping that maybe that wouldn't honestly be the case. Didn't want to have to revert back to an almost 4 year old version of Eclipse. I'll give that a try and see what happens.
Yes, good to be back! I liked SailPoint and I still might work with it from time to time but SAP IDM will always be that first IDM product that got me interested in this flavor of IT. I'm sure y'all will be seeing more of me from time to time. 🙂
Installing Oxygen did the trick. 🙂
Hi Brandon,
drop the ActionTask on the line, this should work.
Everybody struggled with that one time or the other, I think...

Alex
