Dear Experts,

I am currently experimenting with roles, user groups, and creating users

I am having a hard time understanding the differences between the user groups

From what i understand, there are two user groups. There is a general user group and an authorization user groups.

I am trying to understand why there are multiple different versions of user groups and what they are used for.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I am trying to understand what you mean by "domain." I get that the administrative group is used for different countries/company codes.

Guessing that you are saying that the general groups are used for something that the administrative does regardless?

A more concrete example would be helpful

That is what is the case. In documentation also you will find referrence of 2 transaction for mass maintenance use. Though in SU10 I did not find any usefulness of the same. And the other reference (SUUM) is obsolete.

Domain means further segregation to organization based on nature of their job. Like in tobacco organization a domain can be like LEAF. From there many department can be formed as it's subset.

One may use this to define their organization in more structured way. It is the benefit I can see out of this.
