Hi Experts,

In BW/4 HANA, there is one more option: "Update Datasource".

Is it to replace the option: "Replicate Datasource" ?

Tks !

Hi Wei,

Replicate DataSource is to bring the DataSource across from the source system into BW4/HANA, in other words transfer its structure and definition into BW/4HANA and make it available to be used.

Replicate DataSource

Update DataSource allows the system to check the definition of the DataSource in BW/4HANA and compare it to source system, and then bring across any changes, for e.g. a new field is added to DataSource on source system.

Update DataSource

Thanks

So, if DataSource created in the source system for the first time, replication in BW is enough.

If any changes made in the DataSource , then do not need to replicate again, just update the DataSource in the BW.

Am I right ?
