EDW stands for enterprise datawarehousing, right? the "enterprise data warehouse" is your BW if you are staging / reporting only from BW; you could have as well another data warehouse systems combining BW data and other data...
Some would also say that the "data warehouse" is ONE system able to ETL data and present reports based on this data; that would be your BW.
EDW can also be stated as the data warehouse layer where you bring data from the source system and stage it . From EDW, you take it to the final destinations ( called data marts) from where you can develop queries.
