Database Pathway Never Saves

Hello,

Our company is currently using Crystal Reports 10. We are having a problem with our database pathway erasing every time we log out, requiring us to continually cut and paste the database alias into the Easysoft InterBase ODBC DSN Setup window.

Is there some way to have this pathway saved so that when I log on it is always there?

Hi Cailey,

I think the problem is in ODBC connection but not in Crystal. Did you try using other type of connections like Native,OLEDB or with ODBC Datadirect drivers? Still facing the same problem?

This might be extremely helpful, but I am not too sure where to even look for such a thing. I am not well versed with Crystal as our resident expert recently left.

What is the datase you are using? Ifyou have that installed in your machine then try to create new connection from Crystal where you can see the list of connections available and select which connection you want and add the required tables to the report.

We are using TRAMS database. It's located on our server. I have the correct pathway, and it works when I manually enter every single time. I just want it to STAY so I don't have to keep cutting and pasting when I want to do a report.

Try creating a new connection and use Database files and select the database file from your server and test the report.

Also can you let me know how you created the ODBC DSN?

So, even though the current Alias Pathway I have and I use for the other programs that require access to the database I should still try to create a new connection?

There's no check box that says "Save alias" or "Save database pathway" so it sticks?

This seems too complicated for a properly running connection.

Sorry, the ODBC DSN from what I know was created through TRAMS upon installation of the program.
