Hi Dashboard Gurus,
When creating a dashboard and copy an item like a pie chart and then mapping to a new cell, the format of the values are all reset to general from my desired format (numeric, no decimal, use comma seperator).
Any time you remap an object to a new worksheet cell, all the value formatting is reset to general instead of retaining the existing properties.
Is this just the way it is or is there a way to avoid this because it creates a lot of extra rework.

Hi Lee,
What is the Live data connection type that you are using? What is the back-end source for data?
Are you able to replicate the same behavior even with dashboards with static excel data?
Is it only with pie chart component or same format properties have issue consistently with any other components?
what is the version of Dashboards client tool?
Thanks

Hi Lee,
I have tested it in Dashboards Version 6.0.4.0 Build 14,0,4,738 by assigning both Custom currency format and default currency format as below on "Mouse over values" in pie chart and tried to copy the component and copied component was able to retain the format in both cases. One observation is your screenshot shows format being set to label, are you trying it correctly for "Mouse over values" in pie chart, because same setting can be set at any of the levels such as Chart title, legend, sub title etc.
I think, you can use "Custom currency format" if its getting retained when copying components or manual setting of custom currency properties is the way to go.
Also, You can raise it with SAP if its consistent with custom currency format across components as you have mentioned.
Thanks
Mallik
