We are running Crystal 11.5 in conjunction with visual studio.NET. We purchased developers licensing for this and we are running Crystal Reports XI Release 2.NET 2005 Server (Version 11.5.0.0) on our iis server. We upgraded from crystal 10 and asp 1.1 to crystal 11.5 and aps2.0 about 2 years ago. Since then, we have had many problems with our existing and new crystal reports. We had no problems prior to the upgrade. Initially we were getting the maximum report exceeded error message - we changed the registry for max reports from 75 to -1. Now we get a load report failed error and have to reset the www service to fix the problem. Is there a fix for this - do we need to upgrade to a different product and if we do, can we use our existing Crystal reports?
Request clarification before answering.
Reports will load for hours or days and then nor reports will load and we get this error:

The text I sent you was copied right out of the event viewer - it's all there is. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Re-reading this whole thread and this thread having gone past two pages, I think it is time for this to go to a phone support. You can discuss the issue with a technician, do a webex and what ever. Remember, this is not a usual occurance. (the error is common, the solution is usually straight forward). You can obtain a phone case here:
Ludek
Can you tell by looking at the error message whether it's a print engine limit problem. If this is the problem does a more scalable solution allow the existing reports to work w/o further developement.

Ludek - SP 6 clearly helped - Monday is a very report intensive day - in the past we had to reset the service 5 or 6 times. We only had to do it once between Thursday night and Monday mid day. Any other suggestions?

Yes it's the active X printing. We're currently delivering it via -
<printControl>
<add key="url" value="http://dla-ss-iis2/crystalreportviewers115/ActiveXControls/PrintControl.cab"/>
</printControl>
but I noticed that the crystalreportviewers115 was set up in ASP 1.1 - I changed it to 2.0 - it seems like it's working.
Is this the best way to deliver the activex printing control?

That is good. Just an FYI. There is a blog on activeX printing issues here:

Thanks -
When our users try to print out a report - they are asked to install something - they can not install software on their machines - do you have the msi that needs to run for this?

I've installed SP 6 on both the development box and the server - I'll see if it helps. I noticed that 2 of our projects have different versions in the web.config
Version=11.5.3700.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"
Version=11.5.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304"
Is this a problem - which version is correct?

Do I need to change the web.config Version=11.5.3700.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" or are these parameters the same.

I've inherited this - so I'm not sure which (if any) service packs are installed. We are using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Version 11.5.8.82627 and Crystal Reports XI 2 .NET 2005 Server version 11.5.0.0
We also have some software running on the server that is compiled with version 10.2.3600.0 (It was using the integrated crystal from vs 2005)
Are the links you sent for the development machines or the server? Do I also need to install a different server version?

The version indicates that you are on SP 2...
Re;

SP6 will go on the development computer.
Runtime goes on the server. You'll have to decide if you want to use the msm or msi.
CR 10.2 is of no consequence here. No other version should matter as since v 9, all versions are side by side compatible (with the possible exception of CR XI r1 (11.0.x) and CR XI r2 (11.5.x)
Ludek
Well, you don't mention if you have applied any Service Packs for CR?
Try SP 6;
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100015859952009E/crxir2win_sp6.exe
Recompile the app. Then ensure you deploy SP6 runtime.
msm:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100000634042010E/crxir2sp6_net_mm.zip
msi:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100000633302010E/crxir2sp6_net_si.zip
Make sure you are using .close and .dispose on the report objects as you get done with them.
