Create new date format

Has anybody created a new date format in SAP? We are on ECC 5.0 and our UK users are asking for their date to be formatted DD/MM/YYYY. The system currently has a DD.MM.YYYY, but that is not how they would like to see the date.

I see the domain "XUDATFM" has 11 date formats defined, in addition to possibly adding the format to this domain, what else would need to be done.

If this is a terrible idea, also please let me know.

If this has been done, please let me know how.

Thank you, Jay

I tried changing XUDATFM and XUDATFRMT to add DD/MM/YYYY as a date format. I had to register the objects first.

There were warnings about modifying Central Basis Objects before I made any changes. After adding the new format and trying to activate it, there was a warning about 27 System Dependencies that would be affected by the changes, at which point I stopped.
