Hello, I am new to this forum.
Background:
We are in the project preparation phase of deploying SAP EP v6.0 for our Intranet, with plans to deploy it for our Extranets.
Today, we have a home built Intranet and content management tool based on Coldfusion technologies. The content management tool is designed for non-developers to easily and quickly:
--create a web page
--create "iViews", for example, a menu of links or static content (text, html)
--lock down the display of iViews to roles (NT Security Groups)
--attach the iViews to the web page
--change the layout of a web page
--control the color scheme of a web page
--move any of the above into production
--change, undo, restore and/or delelte any of the above
--along with a few other features
The goal of the above tool was to remove the Developers from the day-to-day maintenance of a site or section of a site.
Today, our Extranet sites are built on Coldfusion technologies as well. Our Extranets do not have a content management tool. Developers are required to make changes to the site.
My Questions:
1. Does SAP EP v6.0 provide some level of content management functionality out-of-the-box? If so, please explain what functionality it provides.
2. If SAP EP v6.0 provides the above, does it allow for a delegated administrator (non-developer) to maintain a site (Intranet/Extranet) and/or sections of a site (similar to what we do today).
3. If SAP EP v6.0 does not provide the above functionality, is there a Business Package that enhances the out-of-the-box content management tool or provides for a content management tool to where a delegated administrator (non-developer) can author and publish content?
Thank you!

Hi Bryan,
EP6 does provide delegated content administration. You can assign admin's to control any part or all of your content. The majority of that content are iviews, pages, worksets and roles. They can add, change, delete iviews from pages, pages from roles or worksets, lock content on pages, etc without having any real technical background.
Of the list of items you bullited, creating web pages is not a content admin function per say. they can create an iview very simply that points to a web page that is created elsewhere in your system. there is also a neat tool called iview catcher that allows you to capture all or part of another webpage in an iview.
the on thin on you list that is not part of the delegated admin is the control of the color scheme of the pages. that is a central function in the portal called themes. They can however assign themes that have already been precreated.
If you go to the following URL, it will take you to the portal documentation. Choose the Administration guide you find all the info on content administration.

Hope this helps
