Changing CMS Database

Hi,

We have installed SAP BI 4 with the default DB on the same server as we didnt have the independnt DB available.

I want to now copy the data from the default DB to a new one which we will be using.

I have had a look at the guide and the steps I am looking to do are

1. Use the CCM to stop the Server Intelligence Agent (SIA).

2. Select the SIA and click the Specify CMS Data Source button.

3. Select "Copy Data from another data source

4. The select the current database I am using in the "Get data from" and select the new db in the "Copy to the following datasource"

I appreciate that all the data will be destroyed in the target DB and everything should be copied and the system will be pointed to the new DB. Is that correct?

Is there anything else i should be concerned about?

Thanks,

As i see you are planning to have a distributed DB. That means the system is growing up and you need a larger-scaled system.

Yeah all those steps are going to create all the db objects for your new db server and copy data from your existing db.

What i can add is you will need to create an ODBC connection at the OS level for your new DB where CCM is located before those steps. Then the connection will be ok and migration process will begin.
