Hi All,
Can anyone tell me about central master data management ?
In what way it is difference from consolidation and harmonization?
I have gone through several documents but i did n't get any idea on that topic.
If anyone have knowledge on CMDM, Please explain in their own words.
Thanks
Narendra

Hi Mullapudi
CMDM is another powerful IT scenario of MDM apart from Consolidation and harmonization of Master data .
Consolidation means pulling all master data from several source systems and cleaning/enriching it in MDM. Once the data is clean we send it back to target systems via harmonization/syndication in MDM.
Central Master data Mgmt comes into picture when we have say implemented both consolidation as well as harmonization and we want all new master data to be created in MDM first. After creation trigger a workflow which checks for all validationsdefined in MDM and also matches new record with existing records in MDM and finally is Approved by Data Manager.Only when the records are approved after all the steps of workflow it can be syndicated to different target systems for creation. This way we ensure that no duplicate data is created in MDM and also data passes all validation and governance rules.
Hope this helps
