Hi All,

Current scenario we have is, our client has lot of Non SAP systems and we are trying to extract data and read data virtually using SDI mechanism.

Our client has purchased licenses for SDI.

The current BW environment we have is BW4HANA Release 1.0 and SP 09.

HANA DataBase system Release: 2.0

We are trying to connect to SQL Server 2017 version using HANA Studio Remote Sources under provisioning.

At present our BASIS team has established two remote source connections

1. MSSQL Generic ODBC adapter

2. Java MssqlLogReader adapter

When we try to establish a source system in BW4HANA using the first connection, we could only able to see the Remote source and we cannot see any underline Databases or Schemas.

When we try to establish a source system in BW4HANA using the second connection, we couldn't find the Remote source at all for establishing a source system.

As per SAP note '2600176 - SAP HANA Smart Data Access Supported Remote Sources'. It'll supported only the following MS SQL Server in HDB.

The following databases are supported as remote sources for HANA 1.0

Microsoft SQL Server2012SPS 07 or later

The following databases are supported as remote sources for HANA 2.0

Microsoft SQL Server2012SPS 00 or laterMicrosoft SQL Server2014SPS 03 or laterMicrosoft SQL Server2016SPS 03 or later

Please let me know if anyone has established a source system using SDI to MS SQL Server 2007 in BW4HANA and able to replicate the data successfully.

Thanks,

Chandra.

Hi Chandra, MSSQL 2017 is explicitly supported based on the PAM for SDI 2.0, which is what you're using for the Log Reader adapter. With proper configuration you should be able to see remote objects. Have all the adapter & remote source configuration steps from SDI documentation been followed?

Best regards,
