Hello SDN,
Does anyone know how to define a query to increase it performances, to make the query run faster?
The query was defined as follows:
Rows with 23-fields (3-fields are with the SAME data)
Columns Structure key figures with 3-fields
Free Characteristics with 14-fields
Please give me your input, thanks for your assistance and expertise!
Regards,
Nicolette Nguyen
Request clarification before answering.
Depending on your situation, you may consider the following. But which toll will help you improve the performance depends on your environment and query specifics, no of users, hardware & software config, etc.
Pl consider the following:
1. Query caching.
2. Query design ; especially avoid using "exclude" option.
3. Compression of requests from the info providers.
4. Collect BW statistics and install the BW technical content.
5. Monitor table RSDDSTAT.
6. Run RSRT and see what the system has to say abut the query.
7.last , but not the lease, look at the cube design itself and try to reorganise dimensions.
