Hello,
Authorisation is a generic term which is same as it's literal meaning.
Authorisations can be given with the help of several authorisation objects in BW those are assigned to roles. these roles are assigned to users.
check out the transaction su01 -> roles tab.
you can check pfcg-> roles. Here you can see the authorisation objects assigned to a particular role.
