Approve button missing for MDG M Workflow

Hello All,

I am trying to set up email notifications for the standard workflow in MDG-M.

I used a standard SAP document attached to work.

Unfortunately, this did not work. So i reverted back all the steps and deleted the BRF+ Z application which calls this step.

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c059adc5-65f7-2e10-36ab-81eb43f53...

And Now my actual standard 86 workflow is also not working. This was working perfectly fine with last status of material as 'Final Check Approved'

I am able to create material, but after refresh 'Approve' or 'Reject' buttons are missing which were visible earlier.

The materials are in 'Changes to be executed' status only.

I am not able to proceed further in approving/rejecting

Please give hints on this.

Thank you,

Shaila.

Hello Ravi,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, we created a rule-based workflow for the MDG material. Unfortunately the workflow is not working now.

Infact not only approve button, ACTIVATE button is missing during the CR type mat01 i.e. create material in the MDG.

I have referred your link and the Decision table values seem correct (i compared with our QA system where workflow runs fine)

So not sure where the problem is.

any more hints will be much appreciated.

Thank You,

Shaila.

Hello,

the buttons (actions) on the screen depends on the Step Types.

Look into the customizing MDG > General Settings> Process Modeling > Workflow > Define Step Types and Assign Actions

Under Step Type 8, do you have the Actions "Activate" and "Reject" ?

Hello Shaila,

The buttons(actions) Activate and  on the screen depends on the Step Types.

DT_USER_AGT_GRP_MAT01/2/6/A/B

give there approval ID in the USER_VALUE  and also which user type.

Thanks

Hello Nikhilesh and Tommy,

Thanks for the response.

After analyzing further, i could see that the WF-Batch user is giving error in the transaction SLG1, all the object txt- Business worklfow are failing for the user WF-batch. The error details show the tRFC for the workitem is still in SM58 queue.

Also , error are found in SM58 for the target system, worklfow_local_400.

So it seems the complete worklfow has a problem, and just not the buttons.

Any hints will be highly appreciated!

Thank you everyone in advance.

Shaila.

Hello Nikhilesh.

Thank you for the link.

I could analyze that the transaction SWU3 which had 2 red cross.

1. configure RFC destination : WF-batch user had invalid password in SM59. We corrected that in workflow_local_400 - logical destination RFC.

2. schedule background job for event queue :  i could also schedule the background job and maintained correct now

This did not really solve the problem. Submit button or activate or approve or reject - no buttons are visible.

the question is in logical destinations i have another RFc connection called workflow_local_100.where i could see the wf-batch user having invalid password - should be cane in 100 client also ?

any hints will be sincerely appreciated

thanks,

shaila

Hi Tommy,

Yes, i have 'activate' or 'reject' in the step 8 of the process modelling.

In SLG1, the WF-batch is failing all the time and i cannot see any entries in sm58.

In swi6, with my CR and BUS2250 , 'there no workflows worked on this object type' error

any other place where i can check my worklfow and all the basic buttons.

Thank You,

Shaila.

Hello All,

Thank you all for your responses.

I was able to solve the issue. After the WF-batch user update in the RFc destination, i re-submitted a CR in the workflow log.

after this, the worklfow started working. I am able to see all the buttons now during Create material.

However, change material is still a problem. All the buttons are not active in 'Change' material. save, submit etc.. Need to analyse on this.

Thank you all again.

Regards,

Shaila

Hi,

check transaction swi6

bus object - bus2250 and put in your change request number.

you should find more information over there.

Hi,

Incase if you do not see the approve/reject buttons when creating new material, i suggest to do the following.

1. Run the SWI6 as mentioned earlier by Tommy and check if an entry exists for your change requests. if yes, then the workflow is correctly triggered and check at what step, the workflow has stopped and why based onthe logs of workflow.

2. if no entry exists for SWI6, i assume , the workflow is not triggerred. in such as case, cross check if everything is correctly configurated as below.

3. Check if the correct workflow is assigned to the change request type.

4. Check if the type linkage is active. Process modeling->Worfkflow->Activate type linkage. when u search for BO, BUS2250, you need to see an entry with type liknage as active for CREATED event.

If you double click on it, you need to see reciver fm is SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF and the reciever type FM is USMD_WD_REVIEVER_TYPE and the LINKAGE ACTIVATED flag is SET.

5. Check if the workflow is active. Try to reactive the workflow using PFTC.

6. The configuration guide for the material master data spectifies few steps during set up. Recheck if everythig is correct as per th document.

7. Check if the services for workflow are active using SICF.

Hope any of these steps are helpful. All the best!

Hello Kishore,

Thank you for the steps.

I have rechecked the options mentioned by you, but still the issue exists. The swi6, does not show me any information about the worklfow. it says - 'there is no workflow that has already been worked with this object type.'

The activate type linkage is set to created for BUS2250 with flag checked. Receiver type is same but receiver type is USMD_WF_RECEIVER_TYPE.(WF not WD)

let me know any other path where i can check if the workflow is correct assigned ?

Thank You,

Shaila.
