API Management Developer Portal Access

Dear Experts,

Can you please confirm if s-user (associated with mail id) is mandatory for developer portal access?

It is possible that developer portal access can be requested by several external partners with their own company mail id's (without any s-user).

Can they all send registration request to the developer portal?

How do they(which user creds) even login to request registration? How does the validation happen?

Please explain how such scenarios are handled w.r.t SCP API Management

Regards,

Malgi

Hello,

Yes, it is possible. You can log in to the Developer Portal either using an S User or P User. If they have a valid S/P User then they can send the request which can be managed via the administrator of you SCP to approve/reject. For more details pls refer to standard documentation about the same:

Once the registration is approved then they need to login with either user email ID or with P/S User.

Hi Saurabh,

Thanks for your response. I am aware of the registration request part using s- and p-user. That's why I asked if s or p user is mandatory.

My query was specifically around cases where external parties do not have s- or p-user.

How do they send the registration request?

Regards,

Malgi

Hello,

Without S or P users it won't work out because such SAP websites are not publicaly available. Specicifically, Developer Portal is not an external-facing tool therefore it makes no sense to open the portal without and S or P user.(it could even have a security lapse) Therefore you need to ask them to register themselves using private/business email as get a P User and then your API portal admin can add those to the application access.
