Since upgrading to BI 4.1 (current version SP2 patch 1) the windows service 'Apache Tomcat for BI 4" randomly stops

It generates the application events:

the error has nothinig to do with Apache Tomcat. It tells you that Webi Processing server service had a problem accessing temp data/cache directory.

Coincidence then... thanks for posting.

Any other way of finding logs/reasons why this service is stopping?

you can enable debug in tomcat configuration and then look for clues in tomcat/logs

We have the same issue in our system as well.  Found these two notes.

We tried this one but did not work.
