Hello everyone,
I read several articels about AIF in this community. but have some additional questions which come up afterwards. Maybe someone of you can give already an answer:
1. For integration of Error and Conflict Handler, which we use already, you write: "
The SAP Application Interface Framework offers you the possibility to monitor ECH interfaces (e.g. asynchronous SAP Enterprise Services).
Vice versa it is also possible to monitor interfaces of the SAP Application Interface Framework in ECH (note: this is only possible if you have NetWeaver 7.31 and AIFX installed)."
Are the prerequisites valid for both cases or only second and if only valid for second case, what is the minimum release required for the first case monitoring ECH interface with AIF?
2. SAP note Note 1799544 - Support of Enterprise Services and existing proxy interfaces
Do I understand this correct, proxies implementing FEH will still be monitored, but only in AIF and ECH (PPO) has to be deactivated?
The prerequisite is related to 7.01 SP1, what about my previous question about 7.31?
3. Does AIF support synchronous and asynchronous inbound and outbound messages?
4. What is the current status about BPMon integration?
Thank you in advance
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
here are some answers to your questions:
1. Yes, the prerequesites are valid for both cases. The integration of ECH and AIF is only available with component AIFX and NetWeaver 7.31.
3. You can implement/monitor synchronous and asynchronous inbound and outbound messages. How asynchronous inbound messages can be implemented is described in the cookbook. For asynchronous outbound messages you can have a look at this document http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-45728.

Verena

Hi Oliver,
When you talk about synchronous interfaces, you do not talk about idocs, but e.g. you use proxies.
Please have a look in the cookbook. All is explained there.
What do you want to know about Business Process Monitoring? As far as I know, this is not part of the AIF.
Kind regards
Dimitri
Hello Dimitri,
ich have Powepoint slides of Mr Gille from 2011/2012 "SAP Application Interface Framework - Overview and Outlook".
In side is a chapter: "Collaboration of Monitoring Tools AIF with Solution Manager / BPMon".
So is it possible to monitor Interfaces implemented with AIF in BPMon?
Can I link from BPMon to AIF Monitor instead of e.g. IDoc Monitor?
Regards Oliver
Hi Oliver,
Indeed, collaboration. That is true. But they remain 2 separate things.
BPmon resides on SAP Solution Manager and AIF resides on your ECC back end system.
It is not possible to monitor interfaces implemented with AIF in BPmon. In fact, that sentence is not correct too.
please refer to my reply in http://scn.sap.com/thread/3429333
In case this is still not clear to you, please revert back.
Kind regards,
Dimitri
