You know already the Functional Usage History section displaying the Usage Trend based on the Solution Capabilities defined by each product, see this blog.
Now we additionally released a new subsection "Business Value (Last Month)" focusing on the last completed month only and providing additional functional usage details:
First graph “Solution Capabilities by Value Drivers”.
A Value Driver defines the general direction of improvement an organization can achieve in a specific business process. Solution Capabilities are contributing to the Value Drivers they are assigned to. Ideally all Solution Capabilities should be assigned to one or several Value Drivers. For some products this assignment might still be in progress.
Please note that only top 10 Value drivers with the most used Solution Capabilities are displayed as default.
For each Value Driver you see a horizontal bar with two categories:
This chart supports you in identifying most affected Value Drivers as well as the Solution Capabilities you are not yet using but which are contributing to an important Values Driver. With that, added value can be discovered.
Second graph “Solution Capabilities by Usage Intensity”.
Here you can check to which intense are you using the product functionalities represented by Solution Capabilities and compare your usage with your industry peers for the last completed month.
Usage Intensity is determined by traffic values. There can be traffic of calls, documents or users. The traffic values of the considered "Traffic Type" are being compared to the traffic median of your industry peers to categorize your "Usage Intensity" per Solution Capability. The intensity categories are defined as follows:
This chart supports you in visualizing your usage intensity compared with the peer group and in finding new usage values potential.
In the example below you can see that 3 Solution Capabilities from Commerce Solution Area are used by you more intensive that your peer group (green segment), 2 of them are used less intensive (red segment) and 7 of 12 Solution Capabilities are not used at all (grey segment). By clicking on grey segment with “7” you can see which business values you are missing (1st graph) and the details to the selected Solution Capabilities shown in the table.
Third graph “Solution Capabilities by Industry Peer”
This chart provides an overview of how many Solution Capabilities per Solution Area are used by a high, moderate or low number of customers of your industry peer group, reflected as an Industry Footprint category.
An Industry Footprint category is determined by the share of your industry peers using a Solution Capability in comparison to the Industry Footprint median of the linked Logical Product.
With this chart you can quickly identify Solution Capabilities you are not yet using but which are used by a high/moderate or low portion of your industry peers. You also immediately see which Solution Capabilities are used by a high number of customers (High footprint) and check if they are also used on your side and with which intensity.
In the example below you can select the 6 Solution Capabilities used by a high number of customers in your peer group and check how they are used in your organization. In this example you see that 4 of 6 Solution Capabilities are not used at all. By clicking on this section with 4 you can see in the table the details, navigate to the documentation of those non-used Solution Capabilities and check if they could be also used in your organization. You also see the related business value for them in the first chart, which you miss.
All Solution Capabilities in the 2nd and 3rd graph are grouped by Solution Areas. This makes easy to see for which product area the functional usage is good and where it can be improved. Additionally, it helps to compare your functional usage with the usage of the relevant peer group.
By selecting a segment with the non-used Solution Capabilities in the 2nd graph you can check how they are used by the customers from your industry peer group (3rd graph). By clicking on the grey segment with “7” in example below (Solution Area Commerce) you see that from 7 Solution Capabilities non-used by you 4 are used by a high number of customers in your industry peer (3rd graph). If you click on the green segment “4” in the 3rd graph you can see the details for those Solution Capabilities in the table and check if they also could be used by you.
Selecting a segment of a graph you can view details to the relevant Solution Capabilities in the table and in the other graphs. You also can use the filters on the top (Value Driver, Logical Product) to focus on a special group of Solution Capabilities.
The table below the graphs displays the details to the selected Solution Capabilities and from there you can navigate to the documentation or to the related product.
