Overview:
In this blog, we will explore about "Just Ask" feature with sample use cases. As described below - Its a Powerful feature provided by SAP Analytics Cloud - to effectively search and depict visualizations based on the Natural Language query.
Recently i had an opportunity to demonstrate the capability to the business stakeholders , so i herewith sharing the same contents for the larger audience to benefit.
This enables the business user to generate the visualizations without any help from Analysts / IT professionals. The following slide shows how to use the same.
To implement the "Just Ask" features there are some admin level authorizations required, please follow the below shown information as a pre-requistes.
Once configuration is enabled for "Just Ask". Please navigate to the below shown icon on the SAC system. the launch screen will looks like the below :
As shown below select the appropriate SAC model which you would like to extract analysis from. In this case
i have selected the standard model "BestRunJuice_SampleModel".
Once model is selected, the business user can ask questions in a natural language. for example in the below scenario - we have asked system to getting the "Gross Margin" by year in a line chart.
second example is instructing the system to change the visualization in the form of bar chart.
More importantly we can perform certain conditional checks and depicts the visualizations on its own automatically. For example in the below screenshot - the business can ask question like "discounts less than 1 million".
as described - the user can perform different set of condition using the natural language and fetch desired results.
Summary of Key Benefits :
1. Query the results based on natural language text
2. copy & past the visualization in to the new story.
3. Generate visualizations based on certain conditions and rules.
4. sort the data and show it in the required format
5. Rank the results and display in the charts.
6. Display row/column table format to show case the complete details as per business requirement.
Conclusion :
This feature is very handy for the business users with dynamic requirements. They can generate their own reports and visualizations without much dependency with analysts and experts from IT.
