What’s New for SAP Application Extension Methodology
With the SAP Application Extension Methodology version 2.3, we have made some changes to the technology-agnostic extension tasks and refined the Extension Technology Mapping. For example, we introduced new extension tasks around the topic of Event-Driven Architecture.
If you are still using an older version of the Technology Mapping, I highly recommend checking out our new version and to learn about the latest innovations and technologies on SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform.
Extension Architecture Guide
Our Methodology is part of the SAP BTP Guidance Framework. With this Framework, we provide a central access point for architects, developers, and administrators to build and run enterprise-grade solutions on SAP BTP.
We now offer a dedicated topic on “Getting Started with Extensibility”. This guide provides a simplified introduction to extending SAP’s ERP offerings. It outlines the SAP S/4HANA Cloud extensibility model with SAP Business Technology Platform, which applies to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (GROW with SAP), SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition (RISE with SAP), and SAP S/4HANA.
With SAP Build, you can create extensions that run on-stack in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, and SAP S/4HANA, and/or side-by-side on SAP BTP.
Depending on your use cases and the capabilities required, you can choose a flexible combination of on-stack and side-by-side extensions.
