This table shows the latest patch level of SAP GUI on the last line, and full compilations and their patch levels.

* It seems recently, SAP releases only one full compilation!
* 64bit version cannot be used on 32bit platforms, and products below SAP_BASIS 7.00!
* Hotfixes require the relevant patch to be installed first!
* Just like SAP GUI patches hotfixes are cumulative and contain the corrections from all previous hotfixes for the same patchlevel and all corrections from the patchlevel the hotfix was created for itself. As of SAP GUI for Windows 7.60, hotfixes and regular patches can also be used as full installations. This means that you do not need a compilation DVD anymore to directly upgrade to the specific hotfix / patch. (1489891 - Hotfixes for SAP GUI for Windows)

Hello, it's several updates for SAP GUI 7.50 and 7.60. Please, correct them in two top tables. The last patch for SAP Gui 7.50 is 15, the last patch level for SAp GUI 7.60 is  5 Hot Fix 2

Hello! I'm sorry about COVID-19. Thanks for correction. Also I found interesting info about SAP GUI 7.70. It could be useful. https://blogs.sap.com/2020/05/06/sap-gui-for-windows-7.70-beta-program-call-for-participation/#

By the way, do you speak Russian?

Yes, very interesting blog, finally I will get 64-bit libraries for my Excel Macros, so it can work in 64bit Excel ?

I studied Russian a lot at school, but after that I didn’t have a chance to practice. ?

I can understand it but hardly speak… Кажется это все, что я могу сказать ?

Hello SAPGUI Experts

We have a user who is on SAPGUI 740 release patch level 7. When the user tried to download any file from SAP using the System -> SAVE -> To Local File, or the Export button, the session hangs for 30+ minutes. The user is on Windows 10.

Can you advise please if there is any known issue or fix for this?

Regards

Hello All,

Can anyone point me in the direction of the release notes for SAP GUI for Windows 7.60 Patchlevel 9 and NWBC 7 Update 15?

Many thanks.

This is the closest of a link I could create: SAP Frontend Components

When you open the download page of your selected component, click the icon in last column.

Thanks Karel.

This is what I would normally do, but instead of a Release Notes document, there's just a long list of corrections.

I've spend over an hour just looking for the notes.

Thanks for the reply Miller,

However, this same location where it just shows a catalogue of 471 fix list documents.

Is this considered the "Release Notes"? Where's the PDF with the list of features and fixes in the latest version of the GUI and NWBC?

Regards.

Do newer versions of sap gui contain the hotfixes from previous patches? I assume they would, but would like to make sure.

Example: installing gui 7.70 patch level 2 would contain the gui 7.70 patch level 1 hotfix 1, correct?

Karel
Explorer
Hi Jordan,

Yes, that would be a fair assumption.
former_member203007

Ok, I hate going off assumptions mainly bc we want the fix in PL 1 hotfix 1, but our software team doesnt want to push out the hotfix and then PL 2 if they dont have to.

Thanks Karel
Karel

No problem, better to always doublecheck if not 100% sure.

Fyi, on the download page, on the last column, you can click the icon 'Related Info' > 'Content Info'. Over there, it litterally mentions what issues are included in the version you are downloading.

Patch 2 hotfix 1 is already out and this is the direct link to the patch notes: Software Downloads - SAP ONE Support Launchpad
former_member203007

Yea, I saw that - I'll have the IT team push out PL 2 first and see if we need the hotfix for it later. Thanks!

I have a weird problem deploying SAP GUI 770 - documented here https://answers.sap.com/questions/13423425/server-response-is-not-xml-error-while-opening-sap.html

Hoping someone has faced a similar issue or already knows a solution.

Appreciate any inputs.

I have an incident open with SAP for a month now with zero progress.

thanks

Hello! My question is whether the SAPscript Legacy Text Editor and the BI add-on for SAP GUI 760 also have to be
installed in addition to the SAP GUI 770 with the latest patch, or is this already included in the SAP GUI?
If there is no inclusion, where can I find these two files?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The BI addon for SAP Gui 770 is available in the download area, and for the SAPscript Legacy Text Editor, see note "2221815 - SAPscript Legacy Text Editor controls are not packed in SAP Windows GUI Installation"

Thanks Ingo!
In my special case, does that mean that in addition to the SAP GUI 770, the current patch,
the file SCRLTESP77000_0-70006481.EXE for the SAPscript Legacy Text Editor 7.70 and both files for the BI ADDON
(BIADDON770SP01_0-80004911.EXE and BIADDON770SP02_0-80004911 .EXE) should also be installed?

Greetings, Thomas

Hi  Thomas,

You are right, you have to install the latest patch level for SAPGUI 770 and the file for the SAPscript Legacy Text Editor 7.70, but only the latest patch for the BI ADDON PL 2 (you don't need BIADDON770SP01_0-80004911.EXE, as all modifications are included in PL2)..

Btw. I don't think it will affect you, but I mention it just in case. I had an issue with the SAP Script Legacy Text Editor, as it didn't install on PCs with a Spanish operating systems when installed from a distribution folder or via distribution server (you see, very special setting in my environment). I raised a ticket to SAP and they solved it for me.

Regards

I.

Hello Ingo, Ok, thank you very much for your help! No, I haven't had such a special case with
a Spanish operating system yet. But good to know if it should happen.

Many greetings,
Thomas

Hello, is there a way for you to change the scroll speed of the mouse wheel in SAP GUI 770?
I scroll a lot with longer texts, so that is quite annoying. Maybe this behavior is normal too, and I just haven't noticed
it before. In the Windows environment I have already set the rotation of the mouse wheel. B
ut no change as a result in SAP. 😞

Hi,

22.Mar.2024SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 patch 16 (FINAL) released

just one question: There's no possibilty to get 7.70 latest Patch 16. Where can we download the latest patch for 7.70?

Thx Burkhard

@burkhard_berger

No 7.70 any more for me neither:

Best to contact your VAR partner. I had to contact SAP recently, because I couldn't download 'SAPSCRIPT LEGACY TEXT EDITOR' any more, and they told me to go through my VAR partner. My VAR partner sent me the installer file without issue.

SAP is very fast in removing unsupported stuff (eg also corrections instructions for no longer supported versions).

Legally one is not allowed to forward sap notes or downloaded sap software, even not to other customers.

Possible way to solve the problem of burkhard_berger:

To download older software you may use the search (SAP for Me -> Services & Support -> Download Software -> Search in Software Downloads [top right corner]), e.g. "SAP GUI". So you will get results e.g.:

"SAP GUI FOR WINDOWS 7.70 CORE" in section "Maintenance Software Component (Archive View)"

There is "GUI770_16-70004692.EXE" - you may even search for this directly.

Good call kme-zp, and I did you one better.

When you click on the release info/content info of the specific download, there's a download button in the top right.

Can anyone explain or link to have an overview what is fixed with GUI 8.00 PL09_02 (from 22.11.2024) what is not in pl10 (from 15.11.2024)?!

I cannot see this in the "Related Info"-"Content Info"

ILIAN_Grigorov
Contributor

@kme-zp I can't find a SAP Note for that, but if you look at the date, PL09_02 is released after pl10, it usually fixes a problem only specific to PL09, otherwise they would have released PL10_1 at the same time. So if you install PL10, you should be on the safe side as well.

Also - this Friday - 31.01.2025 - PL11 should be released.

Can anyone tell me when PL 15 will be released?

This "little" issue creats "mayhem" for all our users in MM/CS/SD/IS-U etc.

@sapreinhart77 We just rolled back to PL13 it works fine there, our users could not tolerate the work around.

PL15 is ready was released some days ago:

SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 patch
15EXE193913 KB24.10.202524.10.2025

Note 3616716.

Symptom

In the SAP GUI for Windows TextEdit Control, the entered text is automatically deleted when the control loses focus. This issue occurs only with the Belize and newer themes. It was introduced in SAP GUI version 800, Patch 14 with SAP Note 3616716.

Other Terms

SAP GUI for Windows; text edit;belize;empty;text;delete;tab;focus;loss;not save;cannot save;

Reason and Prerequisites

Program error

Solution

The issue described above is fixed by an SAP GUI for Windows patch. Section "SP Patch Level" lists the patch that contains the respective correction per affected release. Install this patch or a newer one to obtain a correction for the issue (SAP GUI patches are always cumulative). If section "SP Patch Level" is not available or the information on the patchlevels is missing, this means that this information has not been determined, yet. In this case, please re-check this SAP Note at a later point of time.

Expected delivery dates of SAP GUI for Windows patches

If the patch, which contains the correction from this SAP Note is not yet delivered, you can check SAP Note 1053737 for the expected delivery date. You can also subscribe to that SAP Note to get informed in case of updates. How to subscribe to an SAP Note is explained in SAP Knowledge Base Article 2171560.

Downloading SAP GUI patches

All SAP GUI patches are available on SAP Support Portal. Detailed information about the location of the patches can be taken from SAP Note 563161.
Please take into account that as of SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 there are two kinds of patches for core SAP GUI: A 32bit patch and a 64bit patch. You need to download the appropriate version matching your installation (else the attempt to update will be refused by the installation program).

Dear Krtkbrn13

thank you very much for your quick answer.

Does PL15 solve the problem, or do we have to reset SAP GUI to PL 13?

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the individual SAP notes to find out the PL that will solve the issue.

Greetings.

ILIAN_Grigorov

@Krtkbrn13 , I updated the blog, yes PL 15 has been released on 24.Oct.2025.

It should fix the isssue. In Note 3616716 there is no more a line "It was introduced in SAP GUI version 800, Patch 14....", they removed it. Underneath in "Support Package Patches" they point to PL 14, as if it should fix it!? That is strange.

Good luck!
