Can anybody explain in detail about valuestrings in automatic account determination..

hi

these controls the movement type

value string links between valuation class and g/l accounts acts as a account modifier for transaction or event key.

or

Value string:-

Indicates the posting rule that always contains the same account assignment characteristics for a certain transaction or event (for example a goods movement or an invoice receipt).

The posting string is needed for the purposes of automatic account determination.

If you want to see effect of each value string movt type wise then go in OMWN tcode and double click on each value string.

It will show you the transaction key that will affect for that perticular movt type,movt indicator and consumption posting.

So for these transaction keys you are assigned your valuation class and G/L accounts.

So system follow this path

Movt type-movt indicator-consumption posting-transaction key-valuation grouping code-account modifier or grouping-valuation class-Dr and Cr G/L accounts

Value strings are group of transaction key ,ex WE01 contains bsx,wrx,prd,bsv frl etc.thses are grouped such a way that for a particular scenarios these combination of trans key may get hit.These trans key are grouped together to form value strrings and these inturn are assigned to movt types.

movement type is used to represent the businees activity of goods movment

ex 101 for gr , 122 , reverse gr

so the moment u do the activity using movement type system should hit the correct g/l account and that is also automatically

now atthis point value string comes into the picture

movem,ent typ eis assigned with a value string and vaule str. is assigned with the transactiob/evevnt key

transaction key is assigned with chart of account

for a chart of account and for transaction key u get

value modifier key + account modifier key + valuation class += g/l account

depending upon the given below factors a value string gets triggred for a movement type

1> special stock indicator

2> consumption indicator

3> document indicator

4> quantity update

3> value update

and all these factors lead to a value string and in that string u can find the transaction key
