Hi All,
I've just completed my MM training. For now i'have access to SAP IDES system from my training provider for practice. All is fine except i'm not authorized to use many t-codes. Eg: MM11, MMR1, MMB1, MMF1 to name a few. Everytime i come across such t-codes, i've to send them an email request for authorization. They give access to those t-codes but it's nothing BUT THE PAIN. Sometimes have to wait 2-3 days.
My question to all EXPERTS out there is what can be done about this? Do I have any rights at user level? So that I can take care of this myself and don't have to BEG them all the times. This makes my practice a bit frustrating.
I'd really appreciate it if somebody out there address this ASAP.
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

HI,
you can check what authorisations you have in SUIM tcode against your user id.
YES it is controlled in the profiles of the user id. If you have SAP_ALL profile in the user database then you are authorised to do anythiong in SAP. this can be checked in SU01 against your user id.
User authorisations are also controlled via Roles assignment in your user id(SU01). Roles can be modifided via PFCG.
Thanks & Regards,
KIran

Hello,
As it is an ides system, you should have authorisation for all. Since some transaction codes are restricted, they have not given full authorisation to you.
I doubt you have authorisation for transaction SU01, if yes, then give your user name, go to change mode, in the profile tab, add SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. This should give you full access.

HI,
Usually there are specific roles which are assigned to the user depending upon the nature of there job.
For example
1. MMPURCHASINGMANAGER - tcodes ME28, ME29N, ME22N, ME23N
2. MMPURCHASER - tcodes ME21N, ME22N, ME23N, ME2N, ME2M
3. MMPURCHASEASSISTANT - tcodes ME21N, ME23N
these are 3 sample roles and under that these are the tcodes linked with the roles. this is done in PFCG
these roles when assigned to ur user say MMPURCHAINGMANAGER is assigned to you then you have authoisations to only ME28, ME29N, ME22N, ME23N
this assignment is done in SU01 under roles.
There are two types are roles single and composite.
Above all are single roles. when 2 or more single roles are combined to form a composite role.
Say MMPURCHASEHEAD will contain MMPURCHASER role and MMPURCHASINGMANAGER
SUIM is a tcode to find out easily which user has authorisations to what tcode and authorisation objects like specific plant, PO document type, Porg...
In case if you want SUIM authorisation take a screen shot of SU53 and send it to basis he will modify your roles or add the role which contains SUIM tcode that is it.
Or if you want all authorisations then use SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW in SU01 under profiles
If you are not authorised to add pprofiles then you have to ask the system admin only or any other user who has these two profiles to chnage your user profile
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran

As you said you are having Authorization for SU01 Trxn code. Go to it and Check in Profile whether the Follwing roles are there:
SAP_ALL All SAP System authorizations
SAP_NEW SAP_NEW
As of my Knowledge, you may not have Authorization to Change or Modify in SU01.
I would Suggest you to Contact & Request your Basis / System Administrator to give the aforesaid Roles.
Since Other pple also having access to the same user id & password. You request your Administrator to Create new USer with the aforesaid Profiles.
Thanks & Regards,
Ashok
