Split valuation..?

Hi all

Can any body explain me , what is split valuation ,its significance.

For what type of materials we will maintain split valuation.

Please explain me step by step..

HI,

When the same material is procured from two different loations say one from India and the other from abraod and it needs to be valuated then we have to activate the split valuation.

By doing so we can valuate the material in two different price based on the valuation type and the valuation category.

In the material master u have to activate the valuation type based on its origin.
