Sort String

Hello,

Someone asked me about the fiel Sort String in a BOM. I have seen it in a BOM layout but never know how this works and how to use it. I've read a little about it but not confident that I grasp a full understanding of it.

Could somebody please explain how this field is used and the benefits of using it? I would appreciate it if you could present a concrete example with a step by step so I could comprehend it well.

Hi,

This field you can use for the sorting purpose. Let me give you some example.

If you have the let say 60 parts in a BOM. In these 60 parts some are let say Inhouse parts, some are subcontracting parts, some are subassy imported part etc. You can define the same in this field and can observe the same whenever you are watching the BOM. this field does not effect any thing.

Question , Im trying to assign to the master material because its the Country origin of this that I want to print in the label, not the subcomponents of it. how i can do it?
