Segment without using document splitting

Hi Everyone,

We intend to use segment in Profit center as "reporting dimension".  

We don't want to use document splitting behind it.

Is it possible , not to use segment without document splitting?  

My understanding is that  Document Splitting affects balance sheet accounts and separate these accounts based on objects(Profit center, segment).

Related SSCUIs are  102322 , 103055  ,  120100 .

Hi Resul,

I don't think I really understand your question or the exact change you are looking for ?

One of the prerequisites in segment reporting is the activation of document splitting based on the segment characteristic. The segments can only be used in combination with profit centers on a 1:n basis.

How would you populate the segment data in the B/S items without splitting ?

Document splitting can't be deactivated in S/4H Cloud and even if you would be able to do that then segment reporting would not work at all.

Hi Lucian,

Actually, I dont want to populate segment in the B/S items.

I intended to use segment only P&L level for grouping profit centers as dimension.

May be custom field could be better to do it instead of using segment 🙂
