Hi All Experts,

I am being thrown in an situation that there is a old SAP Server in the environment, our users is using this server for reference into past years data, they have migrated to another ERP Platform. As we have a policy from government that we need to keep data for 7 years. So to me this is critical, but unfortunately i know nuts about SAP and cant do much about it.

So coming into this community, in hoping that someone can point me into some methods of exporting SAP data to CSV file for backup, in case the SAP has a hardware failure.

Regards

Thanks for replying, having difficulties to comprehend the SAP in such a short timeframe.

Will try it out, i have few more question.

1. FOR SAP, i believe we are using SQL Databases together with the SAP System, is there anyway we can do a backup from there? to backup the SQL ECP Database.

2. Is there anyway, we can call out information for the SQL and export from there?

I would work with the business to identify key data to keep - for example, perhaps you can download 7 years of trial balances and export those to CSV, but perhaps not download all records from the FI table BSEG

You can go to SE16 or SE16N transaction and download all data to CSV, and do that for all tables, but that would be very cumbersome.

if it's an older server, running '%pc' in the transaction box for the 'older-looking' tabular displays usually does the trick.

just be aware of the environment that you run it in and don't paste the 'data' where it does not belong.
