Sample Drawing Procedure-Pooled sample

Hi all

In one of my scenario i am facing issue related to confirmation of pooled sample.

As per standard procedure system always creates one physical sample (Category -Primary) automatically , pooled samples are created manually in reference to inspection lot.

Example:There are two primary samples 2.0 Kg each . These two samples unite to form a pooled sample of 4.0 Kg. Practically inspection only done for pooled sample. Hence there is no need to result record for primary samples.

I am attaching screen shots of sample drawing item.

  • I want to know if there is any way by which only pooled samples will be created automatically by the system.

  • In this case my sampling procedure is maintained as ' 100 Fixed Sample and 110 Attr.insp.nonconforming units/manual' .Sample quantity always picks the Insp lot qty. Hence my another query is how the system picks the sample quantity in this case, is there any role of SDP in sample quantity ?

I have already gone through SAP help and so many discussions , but not finding any proper explanation.

Hi,

Pl remove the indicator for Containers and do not enter any details about containers in the SDP. Thereafter, make a GR and check with the inspection lot.

Adopting your settings, I have done similar testing and I got two primary samples and one Pooled sample against the inspection lot.

Pl refer following screens,

Run another test case and you should get the desired results.

You have already gotten several replies.  But you failed to address the question from http://scn.sap.com/people/rahul.girhepunje

He clearly indicaed that you have DM02 sample drawing plan in the inspection lot but you seem to think it is DM01.  But your screen shots shows DM02 in the physical sample record and in the inspection plan.

The bump up of your post was reported by several users.  Please refrain from doing this in the future unless you add additional info to the reply.  Normally I would have deleted this but I wanted you to see Rahul's reply as that might solve the problem.

Hi Craig

The actual SDP i assigned in Insp Plan is DM02 , unfortunately i have written it as DM01 while replying to Rahul which i have not noticed.

My query was not addressed for which i again reopened it. Any way Nitin has given some clue. I just changed my sampling procedure to Fixed sample , and sample size as 1. Now my all samples are generated (Both Primary and pooled). No need to remove indicator of containers in my case.

Hi Mohanty ,

As per your screenshots 2 Primary samples should be generated with 1 pooled sample . Please post screenshots of lot and your inspection plan header .

  • " I want to know if there is any way by which only pooled samples will be created automatically by the system."

How many pooled samed system creates in your case? Does it create more than 1? After seeing your screen it should be 1 only, but yes Primary should be 2.

System pick sample quantity according to sampling procedure. Since you have maintained fixed sampling rule. It will pick quantity assigned againt sampling procedure at MIC line in inspection plan. SDP use to pick number of contained to do sampling as well to pick number of samples.

Hi Nek k

Thanks for your reply

1-In my case only one primary sample created by system although i expect 02 primary samples as per my SDP item.

2-No pooled samples are created by system automatically, that is why i asked if the system creates pooled samples automatically.I have to create it through QPR6.

Please clear my understanding in this regard or let me know any further settings are required in system.

Hi,

As per your Screen shot, system should create 2 primary sample & 1 Pooled sample. Can you please attached screen shot of Inspection lot & Physical Sample Overview screen.

If you want Sample size is 4 kg, then maintained in Sampling Procedure with Sample Management tick.

Hi Rahul

Please find the screen shot of inspection lot-40000007737,Physical sample detail and physical sample display.

In this case also only one sample(200000153) created by system , which is a primary sample.

No other samples (Primary or pooled)were created by system.

Please note that only one operation is there in inspection plan and sample management is also ticked in sampling procedure.

hi,

Please Check the proper Drawing Procedure you have assigned to Inspection Plan or not. In above Inspection lot i have found Drawing Procedure DM2. Is it correct drawing procedure?

Hi,

You have assigned DM02 Drawing procedure in Inspection Plan. Assign your corrected Drawing procedure DM01 in Inspection Plan header & then you test the Scenario.

Hi,

In the initial screen of SDP, please check if the indicator for 'Consider no. of containers' is set.
