Hi All,
I have a scenario, where the process is as follows:
I have a material which is subjected to quality upon receipt at my location.
In Master Data, we have maintained Inspection Type 08.
1. PO is created for the Consignment Material
2. Vendor delivers the material at my location. (101+K)
3. Transfer Posting of stock from Vendor stock to own stock (411+K)
Now, we have deactivated the triggering of Quality Inspection using the exit EXIT_SAPLQAAT_002.
My requirement is the stock must be posted into Quality Inspection Stock when I am transferring the stock from Vendor's Stock to Warehouse Stock.
Furthermore, we have maintained Inspection Origin in 411 Movement Type as 08.
Kindly let me know if I am missing something.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
M
Request clarification before answering.
You mentioned that you have deactivated the Quality Inspection through exit. And controversy, you are looking for stock to be posted to Quality Inspection.
Without creating Inspection lot, stock can't be posted to Quality Inspection stock.
Please clarify.

The exit is only to deactivate inspection lot triggering when I use Special Stock indicator K in my stock movements, basically to stop inspection lot triggering for 101+K.
So when I transfer post stock from vendor stock to own stock the system actually creates two entries in the material document, one for transferring stock from vendor stock to own (here system uses (411+K) and another it will create for transferring stock from one storage location to another (only 411).
But the system didn't work as expected even with the exit deactivated.

Hi,
I have deactivated the inspection lot generation only in the instance when I post Movement Type 101+K, so evidently the system should work when I transfer the stock using Movement Type 411+K. But the issue is not that because we have deactivated the exit.
My expectation is this:
I place an order to the Vendor and he delivers the material at my location, so at receipt (Mvt Type 101) system only updates the quantity and does not update the value of the material. Hence the stock is placed under the vendor's stock using special stock indicator K at 101 Mvt Type.
Now, when there is a necessity for the material I do a transfer posting of the material using 411 Mvt Type which will update my accounting entries and the stock will also be transferred to my Storage location stock. So at this entry I want the system to create an inspection lot since it is logical for me to test the material only when I take it for my own necessity.
So let me know what will be required from my end to carry this out.

HI manoj,
Can you please check the following
Go to SPRO --->Quality management--->Quality inspection--->Inspection lot creation-->Inspection for movement goods-->Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type
check the entries for 411 movement type (this is used to deactivate the inspection lot creation while goods movement)
is it really efficient to do this analysis when transferring the ownership instead when receiving.
In my processes I receive for example 10 tons, but would change ownership maybe 20 times for 500 kg.
following your process I would need to do 20 inspections, in mine with standard GR inspection just once.
Hi Jürgen,
I do understand the point.
But the scenario is completely different here, once when I transfer the stock from Vendor's Stock it is not transferred back to the Vendor unless returned due to Rejection so there is no change in ownership again and again here.
In my scenario the Storgae location which receives the vendor stock is physically outside the Plant. They want to have the stock received here to be considered for MRP run hence the requirement.
Each time my client places an order the vendor delivers the material at this location and whenever there is a need they transfer the stock from this location to their location. So basically, 101+K is done at the Consignment location and while posting 411 there is a stock transfer of storage locations as well involved here.
So any suggestions, on how I can map this.

The 411 K movement type does not have an inspection lot origin assigned to it by SAP. This is why it fails to create an inspection lot. SAP use to at one time let you change/add an origin to the movement types but removed this capability sometime around the 4.0 release.
What you might try to do is a straight 411 movement first into an intermediate Q storage location. This should create an inspection lot. I would then use a followup action based on the UD code that following the posting of the stock by the UD out of QI, (321) would then execute the 411 K for you if the material passes. If it fails, the stock would go to blocked stock where it can folllow whatever procedure you need it to to return it.
I haven't tested this so it's just a thought.

Jürgen L I could do that, but there are already a number of additional documents (basically all relavant to CIN config) involved in this process hence the client isn't accepting to have many documents for reciving the material.
Fire Fighter Yes what you have said is correct. I have already reached SAP with an OSS message for this query but they have mentioned the same that for Inspection Lot Origin is not assigned to the Mvt Type 411 K in the field ST156S-QSSHK. I have manually tried modifying this table and trying this activity but it was an unsuccessful since a lot is getting generated but the system is posting the stock to Unrestricted stock rather than the Quality stock.
I wanted to find out if there is a standard way of achieving this. I do have a workaround where I have customized the process at 411. The system automatically generates another material document once 411 is posted with a Mvt Type 911 (copy of 311) for the same storage location but have activated Quality Inspection for this Mvt Type in OMJJ. So the issue is resolved at the moment. But if there is a standard way of acheiving this then do let me know so that I can avoid custom coding the process.

If you were able to assign the 08 to the 411 K movement type, but your stock went to unrestricted inventory instead of QI, you MIGHT be able to influence that using the following user exit:
| QPL10001 | QM: Inspection lot creation - editing work area on creation |
If you look at that exit I believe you'll find the ability to set the flag for posting to QI or not posting to QI.
Of course, adding the 08 origin to the 411 K movement is a direct table modification. As a result this can always be subject to change by future SAP upgrades/hot packs etc. SAP will not promise you that they won't modify or change or just overwrite the field during any given maintenance pack.
They took this ability away, I believe, because folks were making changes to origins that didn't make sense and then it screwed up other downstream processes. So they will not support a change if you make it.
