Production version selection

Hi

If we have two production version with same lot size quantity and same validity date

On what basis system determines IN THE PRODUCTION OR PROCESS ORDERS.

The selection key in Material master is Production version only

Please explain the logic

System will take first production version while running MRP, if the P V have same lot size quantity and same validity date.

Dear during MRP System will default take 1st PV if lot size and validity is same for 2 versions even if you set selection by PV in MRP4 view.All you can do is you can change PV manually in plan order Or if you want system to take automatically in MRP then you need to lock 1st PV.

What is the basis for the Selecting the production version .

How the system identify this is the first production version ?

If i created Version with Number 1000, 1001

and if we kept 1001 as the first , Which version system will create ?

system will check the validity date, from lot size and to lot size with requirement qty, if both the PV has valid on date having same lot size, System will take first created PV, if the first created PV is locked, then system will take second PV

If i created Version with Number 1000, 1001

System will take first created PV, if 1001 is created as first then system will take 1001

Hi Sasikanth,

system will sorting (ascending) wehn you save the production version in material master, so by default system will pick up the first production version 1000 during the MRP

Hi sasikanth,

MRP system will take first production version, then during conversion time (planned order to production order), you can change the production version manully

Dear

If the two production versions are same validity and lot size , then as a priority , it will take the frist Production version by default .Now , if you want to select the production version , then u can goto OPL8-Define order type depedent parameters -Produtcion Verion in Master Data tab -Keep -1-Manual Slection of production version while creation of Process Order or Production Order .

Or else , Lock the Procuction version which u do not want system should select duing MRP run or creation of Production order /prooces order , then un-lock production version will be selected automatically .
