PROCESS SCRAP

Dear SAP EXPERTS

My Clint requirement in the following manner

He is issuing material to production using Movement type 261, During production some quantity of process scrap is generating, and the process waste is used as a rawmaterial again, please suggest me how to account the process scrap, and what process have to follow,

1) Create a separate material code For scrap

2) Maintain a Scrap Material IN BOM in - ve qty ( IF 100 EA qty of finish material Product scrap generation is 10 Kg Means, In BOM item maintain a 10 - Kg & The BOM header base qty is 100 EA0

3) IF Production order is created, Raw material is posted in 261 movement, By Product ( scrap) receipt will taken place in 531 movement and finish material is receipt in 101 movement

IF U do like this you can Issue the scrap to other Production order also, and the value will also account in SAP

Does the scrap created during the production process carries value ?

If yes -

- have valuated material code for scrap

- define some qty of scrap in BOM of finished product (Raw material + Scrap)

- Take receipt of both finished product and scrap into stock

- Transfer material to material stock from scrap code to raw material code( Note in this case your raw material and scrap code should have same UoM)

If not -

- have non-valuated code for scrap

- Define in BOM as another product

- take receipt of this scrap material

- Issue the scrap material to production order of finished product.

Please check if above options suits ur requirement

Standard SAP Business process,

Scrap material Handled as by using movement types 551 - GI scrapping

553-GI scrapping QI (Quality Inspection stock) and 555 - GI scrapping blocked stock type

while posting this movement consumption accounts generated in goods movement issues.

VNG Consumption accounts posted during issues the scrap materials.

Hello,

As you said, you are resue that Scrap material as raw material for another process.

Create one material number for scrap and move that scrap qty to newly created scrap material . After transfer the material to material to use the same material (ROH) for your remaining process.

This process scrap generated is not used as raw material for some other production, it is used for same process, For example, the client is manufacturing glass, the rejected glass finsh product is reused again as a raw material,

Hi

Here for your process, 1000 kg of X is used to create Y. Now you got 10 kg as scrap or left-over of material X during the process. If the scrap is having the same characteristics as of X earlier, add it to stock again using movement type 501. In this way X can eb used in the production of material Y again.

if the material is having different characteristics, create a different scrap material number adding teh scrap qty using movement type 501.

HI,

This can be possible, do the partial confirmation of the order and make the 531 movement for the rejected raw material so that it can be usable for the same order or process and at the end of the process do the final confirmation, hope this will resolve your issue.
