Hi

we have an requirement from our client.

They are in SAP B1 8.82 Pl 04.

They need the inventory documents like GRPO,Issue for Production and Inventory transfer to be posted, when fetching the appropriate field from the barcode.

Scenario:

User receives the item with Barcode from the vendor.

The barcode will have the needed information for generating GRPO.

So,when the user scans the barcode through Motorolla scanner, the details from the barcode should appear in the GRPO screen,in order to add the GRPO.

Do we need to write any SDK code or we need to purchase an addon for this.?

Kindly suggest

Hi Kamba,

Since this is not a "native" behavior you definitely need some customization. I don't know any addon that does this kind of thing to suggest to you, but, both your options are valid. You can write your own SDK code or buy an addon from the market.

Writing your own, means more flexibility, but takes more time and investment. Buying one means that you'll get what you paid for, and if in the future you need to change something you'll have to contact the authors.

Hope it helps.

Hi Pedro

Thanks for your valuable answer.

Assuming I am writing my own code, then how can i write code for this Barcode integration.

Do i need use the same SDK code or different?

If i need to purchase, can you suggest a best addon.

Hi Kamba,

I don't think I really understood your last question, but, to write code for this Barcode integration scenario you need only C# or VB and the SDK (which comes with SAP B1).

To start writing addon's I'd recommend reading the SDK Help Center and looking at the Samples. These are all provided with the SDK. And of course, this forum .

And regarding a possible suggestion of an addon, like I said, I really don't know. But if other members know of some addon, I'm sure they'll post here.

Good luck.
