Most Basic Elements in PP

Hi PP Gurus,

As I have gone through extensive search and I found the data regarding the Demand elements, Supply elements, Stock elements ,Receipt elements & Issue elements. But I am not getting much clarity on these data. So Could any one please explain me about these elements with appropriate & suitable examples. Other than these above mentioned elements, if any other elements exist then kindly please mention about them. I shall surely reward them in a true & genuine way.

Hi,

Find the explanations as follows...

Demand elements : Planned independent requirements (PIR's), Sale Orders (Customer Requirements)

Supply elements & Receipt elements : Planned orders, Production orders, Purchase requisitions, Purchase Orders, stocks,

Stocks : Unrestricted Use Stock, Sale order stock

I am not sure on Issue elements you are talking about..

then Stocks, issues and receipts are same as above demand elements, supply & receipts elements, stock elements, issue elements? if they are differ then could you please 

with suitable & appropriate examples the below ones ?

• Stocks, Issues and Receipts in inventory management in SAP.
• How many types of Stocks, Issues and Receipts exists in  SAP.

Hi,

Demand elements are basically requirement elements..

Planned independent requirements (PIR's),

Sale Orders from customers  (Customer Requirements)

Dependent Req.

Reservations..etc....

these Demand elements are input to planning run.. when we do planning run we will get receipt elements for these demand elements..

Receipt elements are outputs of planning run and various stocks...

Planned orders,

Purchase requisitions,

Production orders ( converted from Planned orders )

Purchase Orders  ( converted from Purchase requisitions )

stocks etc....

There are many types of stocks like.....Unrestricted Use Stock, Sale order stock, Quality stock, blocked stock, and etc.. search in net....

Hi,

In addition to reply from our expert , you can find the MRP elements in OMD5 configuration transaction. The texts in MD04 are derived from this setting. The configuration data can also be maintained in view V457T (in SM30 transaction).
