Material replacement

Hi,

My client have following scenario

he created one Sales order with material 'X' (MTO)

at the time of delivery my client is asking If materal 'X ' is not ready then system should give pop up

message where he will get list of materials which will replace to material 'X' & he will select

one material from that list.

my question is this scenario is possible?

if yes how to map it?

Akshay,

Material Determination process.

since you are cutsomising follow th path:

IMG --> SD --> BF --> Material Determination

1. Access sequuence is A001 - Material Entered

2. Condition Type is A001

3. Material determination procedure = A00001

4. Assign the procedure to your sales document type

5. Define subsitution reasons

Note: Against Substitution Reason 0004: Activate Warning indicator and under Output column = A

Front End:

Easy Access --> Logistics -->SD --> Master Data --> Products --> Material determination or Tcode VB11

In this screen Enter "MatEntered" = xxxx

Material = XXX1 enter unit of measurement and maintain proposed reason as 0004 - Autm material selection

Note: you have to mainatin the same reason at the top and in coulmn. Press enter. This is for single material.

If you want to add two more materials Choose the material and then click "Alternative materials" - ICON appearing at the top -left of your screen.

Here you can add the materials that you would like to replace with the original material then most important click or activate MRP indicator. this will help you.

Since you have activated MRP indicator, it wii serve your requirement

Note this activity will happen at sales order level not at delivery level

just check....

Hi,

If you maintain 'A", system will redetermine Product selection in deliveries but for 'B' it is only for sales orders

Hello,

For a MTO, the sales order is trigger for delivery date. based on your avilability check settings , the system will propose a possible date

what does the requirement means the delivery not available means ?

you can still congfigure the senario with material determination . in that you can set the requriement that if the material is not produced on the customer required date , the system shoulod propose alternatives

check the foroum for many threads to configure the material determination

Hi,

You have control for these also in Material determination.

Whether mat. determined in sales order only or Delivery too
