Material Master Codification

Hi,

Is it possible to define material master in Main Group, Sub Group, Sub-Subgroup and Text with differnt number ranges

Case 1:

If the numbering schema is "INTERNAL", you have the only option of coding / segregating the materials based on the material type. No further segregation can be done based on Main group or sub group in the material code.

Case 2:

if the numbering schema is "EXTERNAL", you can do this by coding the material based upon your logic for main group, sub group . . . using an external system (excel or other software) and then use the same code in SAP.

SAP does not support Logical coding upto the level, you require.
