Hi,

Please let me know what the best and how to maintain material code for steel industry, requirement is code should be grade wise and composition wise ex- SS 316 (Ni 2%, c 1% etc).They want the reporting as per composition, i.e how much Nickel procured in a month,,please suggest

Hi,

It will be better if you go for external material codes for steel industry.

Prepare a material codification document for the same on the basis of all the criteria like; Nickel composition, etc... and suggest users to follow that document while creating material codes

Also decide the material groups as per the same so, it will again provide the help for reporting purpose.

Dear,

There are around 4-5 lacs of materials are there,,in bearing itself 40-50 thousand types are there,,user doesnt want to maintain each mat code for each part.For ex baering 2620 grade with different make and different prices are there,,weather to use classification or how it works with variant configuration,,, plz suggest
