MASTER DATA LEVEL

HI,

CAN ANYBODY PLZ EXPLAIN ME IN WHICH LEVEL MASTER DATA MAINTAINED.IN CLIENT LEVEL OR IN COMPANY CODE LEVEL OR PLANT LEVEL OR PURCHASE ORGANIZATION LEVEL.

Hi,

Material Master data are defined at various Levels.

1. General Data is defined at the Client Level and can be used by all Organization levels.

2. Plant Data is defined at the plant level and is relevant for Planning,Inventory and Production.

3. Accounting Data is defined at the valuation area level and is valid for accounting. Valuation area defined at Company Code level or Plant level.

4. Sales Data is defined for a sales organization and distribution channel.

5. Warehouse Data is defined at the warehouse number level and is valid for Warehouse Management.

6. Storage Location data is specific to inventory management and is defined at Plant and Storage Location.

7. Storage Type data is valid for ware house management and is defined at the ware house number and storage type level.

Ex. we EXTEND THE MATERIAL TO PLANT AND NOT TO NEW COMPANY CODE

Customer Master at Company Code Level

Ex. YOU CAN SELL THE MATERIL AVAILABLE IN PLANT TO ANY CUSTOMER

Vendor Master at Plant Level

Local control of vendor master data with plant level restrictions

Hi

Basic data 1 & 2 Views are maintained in client level.

Storage Location views are maintained in storage level

Remaining views are maintained in plant level.

which master data r u talking about

if it is materials master then it is maintained at client, palnt, storage location level.

Vendor master is maintained at client level,Company code(FK01), Pur. org(MK01) and general at Plant(XK01) level

Data at client level: General material data that is valid for the whole company is stored at client level.

Data at plant level: All data that is valid within a plant, and for all storage locations in it, is stored at plant level.

Data at storage location level: All data that is valid for a particular storage location is stored at storage location level.

Hi,

Material Master is maintained at client level, Plant level, Storage location level and sales org level.

Venodr Master is maintained at Client level, Comapny code level, Purchase organisation and some times with plant level.
