Hi SAP Gurus ,

I have created  Catalog = B = Object part (Tcode =QS4A / QS41)

Next , I have created Code group = PM2 = Engine (Dump Truck) (Tcode =QS4A/QS41)

I have created codes =EN10=Fuel Lines (Tcode =QS4A/QS41)

Now I would like to have sub codes under code EN10 . so that in notification I can derill down to next level of codes and select them.

Regards

Frazer

In SAP, you can go upto code level, you can't create sub codes. Code itself will expain the details and if you want you can make use of free text field.

Check the usage of code in the below given link.

Hi All,

Thank you all for your inputs . I was able to convince the client with link provided by Maheswaran.

Also please can you let me know the reports by which I can find the list of equipments , notifications based on the Code and code groups.

I would like to report the equipments / notifications which have same failure code .

Thank you all .

Greetings Frazer,

Use t-codes

IW69 - for list of Notifications by Object part code (also Damage and Cause)

MCI5 - for Damage Analysis (according to Damage and Cause codes, if you use them)

Not sure it helps, but you can assign catalog codes to a class via selected sets

Isn't this (selected sets) plant specific when you define characteristic? I haven't used them before but I want to explore that functionality in case requirement comes up in future.

Did you try using Classification in Catalog Profile? You may not be able to drill down from Codes to Sub-Codes, but it will allow you to record additional values. Maybe you can create multiple classes to correspond to codes.
