Gurus,
What is Inventory sampling?Where & when it can be used. What are all the settings required for this?
Request clarification before answering.
Basically on receipt you take a sample that you then test to ensure the material is of the required quality. The sample amount and procedures are defined by QM, typically sample size may be the square root of (N+1) where N is the total quantity delivered.
See Config. path for handling at WM level:
IMG \ Logistics Execution \ WM \ Interfaces \ Define QM
And the help text:
In connection with the component Quality Management, you can have the system check in the Warehouse Management system for stock placements with reference to a transfer requirement whether active inspection lots with calculated sample quantities exist for the putaway quantities. If this is the case, the user is requested through a dialog boy to make a decision on how the sample is to be treated in the WM system.
You can also have the previous dialog step run in background processing. If you can find all the required entries in Customizing, it is also possible to process transfer requirements directly or through automatic transfer order creation.
You will find the required notes in this section.
Requirements
The component QM (Quality Management) is implemented.
Standard settings
In the standard system, no background processing is set.
Activities
1. Decide whether the above dialog step is to run in background processing.
2. Define the required entries for the dialog step. Call up the respective documentation from the field help (F1).
Further notes
For more information on immediate TO creation, refer to the IMG sections Set up automatic TO creation and Activate automatic TO creation.
Regards,
Nick
