When you say "in both instances permissions are already granted to user" what permissions are you talking about? Do they both have the same permissions? Does the target user have instance synchronization permissions?

Hi Luke; My experience in the past has been that we could set up instance sync for customers on our own. But I'm not sure that is possible any longer. I think there needs to be a case and they set up the connection behind the scenes. This works when a case is opened. Do you know if this is true? If yes, I'm not sure if they'll help or not with ACE instances. But I guess worth a try. -- Thanks! Margaret
Hi Seshu;
We are a partner company as well and do the same demos. Again, I'm not sure you can get instance sync on two ACE instances. We just do the configuration in both for our demo instances.
For an actual customer instance, we open a case now to ask for Instance Sync. Especially since most test and production instances are on different servers now, early release and standard release.
Hope this helps 🙂
Hi Seshu;
There is good information in the Product Support about Instance Sync. But bottom line, it is an implementation tool to help synchronize between two customer instances. Customers can also have access. But there are many risks and it should not be used lightly, e.g. it is a BAD idea to sync competencies as the GUID IDs will change and that could cause a LOT of form errors.
