I am loading inventory in to my system for the first time. I am using movement type 561.
whats happening is my WM settings are set to next empty bin concept. so when I load the inventory using this concept. the system will propose the next empty bin.but all my materials are in some particular bins already in some system.so the business has to move all the material according to sap provided bin numbers.
is there any way to upload inventory in to the bins provided by the business.

All of the above replies are good, but will prove to be a fix to this one instance, but not solve your problem should you need to add inventory to a new warehouse in the future.
To resolve this issue, we did the following:
Reserve movement type 561 for initial inventory loads only - production users do not have access to this movement type - only the SAP support staff has access.
561 is configures to create TR but not the TO
Likewise, TO for movement type 561 is not set to print
Use LSMW to populate IM values, and to create TO for TRs, using the correct BIN. This is important so that the initial stock is in the correct locations, regardless of what the put-away strategy says.
This method has worked well for us for many years, and most recently when we loaded several thousand materials to a new warehouse roll out just last month.
Good luck.

Hi,
You can do this by posting the stock in WM first to the desired bin and then clearing the differences to MM.
Create Stock Loss or Gain Transfer Order
Transaction LT01 is used to create a transfer order.
For stock Loss movement type 711 should be used.
For stock Gains movement 712 should be used.
Both movement types require the entry of a requirement number. This is a free field which should be used for audit purposes.
On the next screen the affected bin should be entered (Wm storage type and WM bin) and the transfer order saved.
Clear Differences in Inventory Management.
The discrepancy is now cleared from warehouse management and inventory management is updated bringing stock figures into line via transaction LI21.
The warehouse and storage type 999 should be entered (999 NOT the storage type you have loaded). You should set config so that you are unable to clear differences from other storage types, if you do not do this there is a danger that all stock in a given storage type could be accidentally deleted.
The program will select items for clearing to inventory management. Items are pre-selected. The u2018clearu2019 button should now be pressed
After clearing the system will display a result of the material documents created to clear the stock discrepancies together with a message showing the number of quants cleared.
Stock overview transaction MMBE or a re-run of LX03 will show the corrected stock position.

Hi,
What you can do is to upload the stock by IM-mvt 561 w/o any TR creation (you can control this via WM-IM interface) and manually move the goods into the proper storage bins (LT01 / LT10). You can accelerate this by the use of LSMW.
Other choice might be to allow WM storage bin fields for IM-mvt 561 in OMJJ and directly upload the stock into the storage bin w/o any TO.

Csaba

Since your configuration points to next available bin, the system automatically assigns a new bin. Either you can change this configuration or carry-out a bin to bin transfer (TO) to the correct bin once 561s are posted.
